For those requiring a more leisurely break away from everyday rigours, golf, horse riding, fishing, cycling and walking are available in the New Forest. Many footpaths are accessible from the house, some leading directly into the New Forest National Park or the Ringwood Lakes and River Avon.
If you prefer to stay around the house, the waterside garden enjoys the midday sun and offers peaceful surroundings to guests at any time to benefit from the tranquil surroundings, especially on sunny days.
The house is centrally heated throughout, radiators are individually adjustable to suit guest’s needs, and heat is available even in the summer for those occasionally chilly nights and early mornings. Each bedroom is equipped with en-suite shower/toilet, colour television and tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk provided in mini fridge, hair dryer, hand/bath towels and toiletries provided for your convenience. Off-road parking is also provided. Breakfast is cooked to order from locally sourced ingredients, with home-made marmalades and preserves.
There are many Pubs / Restaurants within a short distance (1-2 miles) of The Shimmerings, providing a variety of styles and types of modern food.
